Condom Review: Caution Wear Mission 701

If you’re on a mission to explore your partner’s great down-under, it’s safe to say that Caution Wear’s got your covered with their new release: Mission 701.

Look, I don’t know why they’re called Mission 701. I don’t know why they have a camo pattern or the little military star. If I was on a top-secret mission (presumably the 701st top secret mission I’ve been on), I’d imagine condoms were the last thing on my mind (unless, maybe, I was using them as a survivalist).

Or unless that top-secret mission were both top-secret and sexy.

One of the things that sets Caution Wear apart from other brands is their commitment to safety. We’ve mentioned before that while foreign companies tend to push for thinner and thinner condoms, American consumers don’t mind sacrificing a little thickness in return for safety. Caution Wear, based out of New Hampshire, is a fine example of that.

My boyfriend found the ring to be a little on the tight side, but he’s a girthier dude. However, the length of Caution Wear Mission 701 condoms are a solid 8.12 inches. That puts it in the upper echelon of the condoms we carry by length. And while the ring might have felt a little tight on my dude, pressed flat, the width of the condom sits at 2 inches, so there’s plenty of room to get cozy for you skinnier dudes.

Because of this width, there isn’t much of a flare on the tip, other than the reservoir at the end. There isn’t much fancy about these condoms– no bumps, ribs, colors, or any of that nonsense. They get the job done and they do it admirably– which is really all you need most of the time.

They don’t really have a super strong latex smell either. I don’t like feeling like I’m going to the doctor every time my man suits up. My fingers didn’t even have that smelly residue once I was done handling the condom, which is awesome.

Another plus to these guys is the lube. I’m a stickler for a good lube– I have my own preferred brands that I like to combine with my own, preferred condoms in spite of whatever lube they normally come with. Silicone lube is always a favorite of mine. So I may be biased about the silicone lube on the 701. But it was silky, soft, and enhanced how soft the condom was. Just handling it made my hands feel super smooth. And best of all, like the condom, it doesn’t stink. My only complaint was that there just wasn’t enough. I wish Caution Wear sold their lube separate, or would let us in on what brand they use!

Final Verdict:

While my partner will probably opt for the Grande in the future, Caution Wear’s commitment to safety combined the aesthetic of the Mission 701’s smell and feel makes me more than willing to recommend them to others.
